New app aids academic success

Help us name a new app for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. The new app helps you manage your academic success. The app gives you quick access to important information such as notes from your advisor, the ability to schedule and manage advisor appointments, faculty feedback on your classes, and access to your iGPS plan.
To download the app to your desktop or laptop, go to one.iu.edu, search for “Student Advising Records,” and follow the prompts to enter your name idea. A mobile version is in the works and will be available soon.

Get ready for upgrades to Exchange and its Outlook email app
Upcoming email will explain steps for migration to Exchange Online.
Exchange, which hosts the Outlook email client, will soon be upgraded to Exchange Online. An upcoming email will explain the steps you need to take to complete the update and to make sure your transition goes smoothly.
The Exchange Online migration will improve IU’s email security and provide advanced threat protection settings. Exchange Online also integrates directly with Microsoft Teams, allowing you to schedule meetings and see your calendar along with Free/Busy information.

If you own a group or organizational account, you are urged to determine where your files will go by Oct. 10. You can fill out a survey to tell us where to put those files.

Faculty: IU eTexts save money
Time to order spring 2021 digital course materials.
Ordering IU eTexts for the spring 2021 semester is the student-friendly approach. Classes will start online, and students will be ready with digital materials the first day of class.

Be aware: DC2 will be read-only on Oct. 11
Data Capacitor 2 will be retired on Dec. 11.
The Data Capacitor 2 (DC2) file system will be read-only as of Oct. 11, and all data that remains on DC2 after Dec. 11 will be deleted. The migration affects some 20,000 IU users.
IU has provided two places to migrate your data:
- Slate – individual storage
- Slate-Project – collaborative storage
You are responsible for migrating your data, but if you require help, contact hpfs-admin@iu.edu.
