IU Indianapolis, IPS, EmployIndy introducing initiative reducing barriers to college

INDIANAPOLIS — Media outlets are invited to Crispus Attucks High School on Sept. 27 for the announcement of a new initiative making it simpler for IPS high school students to pursue a college degree at what will be Indiana University Indianapolis.

Since it first opened its doors in 1969, IUPUI has been committed to providing access to quality education across central Indiana. With this partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools, the new IU Indianapolis is taking that commitment to the next level by making it even easier for these students to become Jaguars starting in fall 2024.

  • Who: Interim IUPUI Chancellor Carol Anne Murdoch-Kinch, IPS Superintendent Aleesia Johnson, and EmployIndy President and CEO Marie Mackintosh.
  • When: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27.
  • Where: Crispus Attucks High School, 1140 Dr. MLK Jr. St. in Indianapolis, Math Assistance Center main floor.
    • Park in the main lot and enter Door No. 1.
