Matthew Aalsma

Expert Bio

Matthew Aalsma, director of the Adolescent Behavioral Health Research Program and the Juvenile Forensic Assessment Clinic at the IU School of Medicine, is a trained child and forensic psychologist. His research focuses on vulnerable populations, including youth in the mental health and juvenile justice systems.

Aalsma’s research includes exploring systemwide and individual efforts to improve the use of mental and physical health care for children and adolescents; improving the health of children, adolescents and adults through public health care collaboration and transformation in the public sector; and the use of medical and behavioral health care for justice-involved youth.
