Hillol Bala is an associate professor of information systems, Conrad Prebys Professor and co-director of the Institute for Digital Enterprise at the IU Kelley School of Business. He teaches and conducts research in the area of information systems. His research focuses on the implementation of large-scale enterprise systems, such as ERP, supply chain management and customer relationship management.
He studies how employees react to these changes and how organizations can develop effective interventions to minimize negative reactions. He also studies the assimilation of interorganizational business process standards (e.g., RosettaNet) in supply-chain and other interorganizational networks and their impacts. Another area of his research is IT implementation in health care organizations. He is particularly interested in identifying the factors that can lead to successful IT implementations in these organizations.
