Nicole Van Andel

Expert Bio

Nicole Van Andel is a lecturer in the Health Information Management Program in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at IUPUI. She has worked at IU Hospital, Larue Cater Memorial Hospital and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana.

In 2021, she received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the School of Informatics and Computing. She has served numerous roles in the Indiana Health Information Management Association, including two terms as president; she also served as the legislative chair/state advocacy leader, annual meeting co-chair and professional development chair. She is currently serving as the communications chair and as a delegate.

She received her master’s degree in adult education and bachelor’s degree in health information management, both from Indiana University.
