Expert Bio

Elisa Räsänen started as the Finnish lecturer in the Department of Central Eurasian Studies in fall 2016. She was also a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant in the department in 2013-14.

Before teaching at Indiana University, Räsänen worked as a Finnish teacher in adult migrants’ integration training programs in Finland and as an assisting teacher in Finnish studies program at University of Toronto, Canada. Räsänen obtained her M.A. in Finnish language in 2014 in University of Jyväskylä, Finland, focusing on Finnish as a second and foreign language pedagogy.
