Expert Bio
James Davis is a professor of mathematics. He was on the faculties of Princeton, Notre Dame and the University of Chicago before joining IU Bloomington’s faculty in 1986. He was chair of the Department of Mathematics and has held visiting positions at Stanford, Goettingen, Mainz and Bonn.
He has a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Michigan, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
