Eric Robinson is professor and director of graduate studies for the Department of History at Indiana University who teaches and writes about ancient Greek and Roman history. His publications include books and articles on ancient Greek politics and warfare, particularly the nature and extent of ancient Greek democracy, as well as its connections with modern democracy. He is presently writing a textbook history of Western civilization and researching ancient Sparta’s military reputation.
