Expert Bio
Helena Soini is senior scientist at the IU Institute for Pheromone Research and the Novotny Glycoscience Laboratory. She received an M.Sc. degree in organic chemistry at Oulu University, Finland, in 1982 and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at Helsinki University in 1994. She has worked in industrial pharmaceutical (Orion and P&G Pharmaceutical) and food research laboratories (P&G Food Technology) for total 14 years as a scientist and a laboratory manager before joining IU.
Since 1997, Soini has held an external lecturer position at Helsinki University, Department of Chemistry, Analytical Laboratory. Since 1983, she has published 66 peer-reviewed articles, including two patents.
