Rupa Radhakrishnan

Expert Bio

Dr. Rupa Radhakrishnan is a pediatric neuroradiologist at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and the associate chief of the Division of Neuroradiology within the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the IU School of Medicine. Her broad research area is the application of advanced neuroimaging modalities to study brain development in pediatric disease states.

Her main research focus is improving the understanding of brain structural and functional development in infants with prenatal substance exposure, and some of her novel work has been highlighted in media publications. Her other research interests include pediatric epilepsy and fetal neuroimaging.

She is a clinician scientist and the recipient of several radiology research grants through the American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America and American Society for Pediatric Neuroradiolog). She is PI or co-I on several NIH- and IU CTSI-funded studies.

Radhakrishnan is an active member of several radiology societies and is the co-chair for the DEI committee of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology. She is also a sought-after speaker and has given dozens of invited talks at national meetings. She has presented several abstracts at national and international meetings and has published extensively.
