Freya Thimsen’s research investigates various definitions and performances of democracy in anti-corporate politics, including in legal theory, online petitions, books, local resolutions, community rights ordinances and other media. Interests include how both traditional and innovative democratic rhetorical material can be enacted in collective politics to advocate for social and political change.
Thimsen is currently writing a book about the various and sometimes conflicting positions on what democracy is within the movement against corporate legal rights.
