Expert Bio

John Enrique Thompson is a senior lecturer in fine arts at Indiana University South Bend, where he specializes in graphic design. He has been teaching graphic design, computer art and design history since 2009 and also has an extensive collection of comic books and toys. In addition to teaching, he continues to create comic work and illustration.

He is a founding board member of the Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum in Elkhart, Indiana, and a working graphic designer. He has authored and illustrated a true crime graphic narrative titled “The Comely Widow: The Crimes of Serial Killer Belle Gunness,” published in 2021. 

He holds an MFA in interactive design from the Savannah College of Art & Design, a BFA in fine arts from Indiana University South Bend and an associate degree from Vincennes University in commercial art and design.
