Expert Bio

Mark Minton is the former president of The Korea Society in New York, former United States ambassador to Mongolia and a diplomat for more than 30 years. He serves as a professor of practice in the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies.

He played a leading role in America’s relations with Asia during a distinguished career as a senior foreign-service officer. He was deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea; country director for Korea; and deputy country director for Japan as well as serving in other positions at the U.S. Department of State.
