Expert Bio
Thomas Clark is a professor of biology. He is interested in the health impact of cannabis use and has published a review and meta-analysis demonstrating a clinically significant reduced body mass index and obesity rates in cannabis users and provided a theoretical explanation for this decrease, thus associating cannabis use with decreased risk of the two main life-threatening epidemics facing Hoosiers: obesity and the opioid addiction/overdose epidemics. This work established that estimates of the public health impact of cannabis use must consider both its harmful and the beneficial effects.
Clark earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine.
