Expert Bio
Originally a journalist, Perry Metz spent two decades in university administration before being named general manager of WFIU/WTIU in 2003. He served eight years as president of the Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations and is currently chair of the national University Licensee Association – the group that represents 75-plus public TV stations owned by universities – and an adjunct associate professor of journalism in IU’s Media School. Metz has a bachelor’s in political science and journalism and a master’s in communication management from Indiana University. He has served on advisory panels for NPR News, regional Emmy judging and PBS television policy.
