Steffany Comfort Maher is an assistant professor of English education and director of the IUS Writing Project at Indiana University Southeast. Her research interests include critical inquiry approaches to teaching literature, critical youth studies, and youth cultural studies, especially as applied to the teaching of young adult literature.
Working with pre-service and in-service teachers, Maher offers instruction in teaching secondary reading and P-12 writing in all content areas. She also teaches advanced methods of teaching English language arts.
