Expert Bio
Dr. Mary A. Ott is a professor of pediatrics and an adolescent medicine specialist and pediatric research ethicist at the IU School of Medicine. Her mixed-methods research focuses on community-based adolescent pregnancy and HIV prevention, adolescent contraceptive access, global adolescent health, and ethics of research with vulnerable populations.
Current projects focus on the implementation of evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in community settings, pharmacy access to contraception, and adolescent capacity to consent. Ott is core faculty in the Center for Bioethics.
