Robert Kunzman

Expert Bio

Robert Kunzman is the Martha Lea and Bill Armstrong Chair for Teacher Education and professor of curriculum studies and philosophy of education at IU Bloomington. His scholarship examines the intersection of education, religion and citizenship, particularly in the context of K-12 education in the United States.

Kunzman has spent the past 16 years studying the phenomenon of homeschooling — its various philosophies, practices and policies — and is the author of “Write These Laws on Your Children: Inside the World of Conservative Christian Homeschooling” (Beacon, 2009).

He serves as managing director for the International Center for Home Education Research, a nonpartisan organization that provides expert information and analysis on homeschooling research for journalists, policymakers and scholars.
