Expert Bio

Carl Weinberg teaches and writes about social movements, culture wars, science and American politics. He is a senior lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences and adjunct associate professor of history at IU Bloomington. He also teaches in the Political and Civic Engagement program, or PACE; and the Liberal Arts and Management Program, known as LAMP.

He is the author of “Labor, Loyalty, and Rebellion: Southwestern Illinois Coal Miners and World War I” (2005). His latest project, a book on creationism and anticommunism, is under contract with Cornell University Press.

Social movements, science and politics, the evolution/creationism debate, Christian conservatism, the labor movement, the meat industry.
