Expert Bio

Rob Elliott is a senior lecturer in the Computer and Information Technology program at IUPUI where he teaches web, cloud and mobile application development. He is a graduate of IUPUI who returned from a career in web application development and consulting to become an instructor.

He is an advocate for the use of technology in order to improve learning outcomes in classrooms of all stripes. A devotee of “active teaching,” his scholarship and dissemination focus on discovery and implementation of practical tools and techniques that fellow instructors can immediately apply to their own courses. He also works toward internationalization of the curriculum through study abroad and virtual exchange so that graduates are more prepared to engage in a global workforce.

Elliott is the winner of the 2020 IU President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching and the 2016 IUPUI Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
