Expert Bio

Dr. Cynthia D. Brown’s primary area of clinical focus and research is the care of adults with cystic fibrosis. She was selected to lead the AstraZeneca Phase III trial to test the safety and efficacy of that company’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Brown is board certified in pulmonary care, critical care and sleep medicine, primarily practicing pulmonary medicine at IU Health University Hospital. She joined the faculty at IU School of Medicine in 2014, where she is an associate professor of clinical medicine with the Department of Medicine.

After completing her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1995, Brown earned her medical degree in 1999 from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
