Walter Balcavage

Expert Bio

Walter Balcavage is professor emeritus at the Indiana University School of Medicine and associate at Indiana State University and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. He taught medical biochemistry and associated topics at these institutions for 30 years, mainly at the IU School of Medicine Terre Haute campus. His areas of research and publications include cellular aging mechanisms, cellular energy metabolism, electromagnetic effects on cells and organisms, and the application of big data analytics to clinical biomedical image data.

Balcavage continues to pursue his biomedical academic interests through collaboration in numerous IU projects and as a consultant to the biomedical industry at large.

Areas of Expertise

Biomedical imaging technology (MR, CT, US, etc.), massive (PB) biomedical data migration, bioelectromagnetics.
