Expert Bio

Derek Nord is the director of the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University. As director, he oversees the strategic vision and direction for the IIDC, Indiana’s University Center of Excellence on Disabilities, and a universitywide center at IU addressing research and service on a wide range of topics affecting people with disabilities.

He has an extensive research and teaching background in community living, social inclusion, poverty and disability, school-to-adult transition, and employment of people with disabilities.
