Expert Bio

Justin Otten is the director of global health affairs in the School of Public Health-Bloomington and adjunct faculty with the Russian and East European Institute. His research expertise is related to the post-communist political and economic transition in Macedonia and the former Yugoslavia, in particular, and throughout the Balkans, Eastern Europe and Russia in general; Otten’s publications relate to his research on privatization in Macedonia. He also maintains strong connections with the Peace Corps, with which he served in Macedonia from 2002 to 2004.
