Expert Bio

Janet S. Carpenter is a scientist and an artist in Indianapolis. She is a Distinguished Professor and associate dean for research at the Indiana University School of Nursing. She is one of the world’s leading experts in measuring and treating menopausal hot flashes without hormones.

Carpenter has created a hot flash measurement toolkit and continues to test behavioral, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical treatments for hot flashes. Her most recent project uses art to teach the public about scientific facts about menopause.
