Brenda Phillips, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at IU South Bend, is a subject matter expert on how communities manage and deal with disasters. She specializes in high-risk populations (e.g., senior citizens, people with disabilities, underrepresented groups). Her expertise includes business continuity planning for small to large businesses as well as the academic sector.
Phillips is a subject matter expert on warning and evacuation for multiple federal agencies. She volunteers and consults for a wide range of governmental and nongovernmental organizations. She has authored numerous journal articles and books funded by the National Science Foundation.
