Expert Bio
Dr. E. Angeles Martínez Mier is a tenured professor and chair of the Department of Cariology, Operative Dentistry and Dental Public Health at the IU School of Dentistry. Her research focuses on dental caries and enamel fluorosis prevention, specifically on fluorides, and is often conducted in partnership with communities.
She obtained her DDS degree at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in 1989, followed by an MSD in preventive dentistry in 1994 and a Ph.D. in dental sciences in 2000, both from Indiana University.
Martinez Mier’s research has been funded by the NIH, HRSA and CDC, as well as multiple foundations and industry.
