A record number of students of color are enrolled at IU this spring, making up over a quarter of the total degree-seeking population. Here's the update from the February IU Board of Trustees meeting.

Presidential search update

The search for a new IU president is advancing as members of the IU Board of Trustees have begun speaking to potential candidates.

Construction news

Sites for new IU School of Medicine medical education and research facilities and a request to bid the Collins Living-Learning Center renovation were approved.

Four collaborative online degrees are among five new degrees approved by the trustees.

Residence hall rates

On-campus residence hall rates were approved. The most prevalent room-and-board rate at IU Bloomington will increase 3.51 percent, or $393, over the 2020-21 rate.

Minimum wage increase

Also receiving approval was an immediate increase of the minimum wage for appointed staff to $13.66 an hour and to $15 an hour starting July 1.
