Graduating fine arts students’ work to be showcased at Indiana University Northwest

Exhibition features ceramics, graphic design, painting, sculpture and drawing

The 2024 Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Showcase located in The School of the Arts Gallery, which will run from Monday, April 22 to Thursday, May 9, 2024.GARY, Ind. — Indiana University Northwest School of the Arts presents its 2024 Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis shows in its on-campus art galleries from Monday, April 22 to Thursday, May 9, 2024.

The exhibition features artwork by eight graduating seniors of the Fine Arts department. Students work with faculty advisors and the gallery director to plan and execute the shows. The exhibition will feature a variety of mediums: ceramics, graphic design, paintings, sculptures and drawings.

  • Abigail Svitko
  • Samantha Walker

“It was an honor to work with these talented artists,” said Erin McHugh, Director of Arts Programming. “This cohort’s senior show is a significant achievement. It is the culmination of years of hard work by students who have persevered and grown artistically despite pandemic-related disruptions early in their studies.”

Two shows will run concurrently in both art galleries located on the IU Northwest Campus: The School of the Arts Gallery, Arts & Sciences Building (2nd floor, room 2017) and the Gallery for Contemporary Art, Savannah Center.

The artists’ opening reception will take place in both galleries on Monday, April 22, from 6-8:30 p.m.

Gallery Hours: Mondays and Thursdays, Noon to 5 p.m. Please note that the IU Northwest campus will be closed on Wednesday, May 8 due to the Commencement ceremony.
