UEDA works to connect higher education institutions, private sector businesses and economic development organizations to resources that lead to economic growth in their communities.

“We are pleased that UEDA has chosen our community for the 2024 summit. As an anchor institution in this community, IU South Bend plays a huge role in the community and economic development,” said Chancellor Susan Elrod. “The university provides much needed talent for industry, community organizations and government.”

More than 80 percent of IU South Bend’s enrollment is made up of students from our eight-county service region and 65 percent of graduates stay in the region to contribute to their community.

The 2024 summit will bring national experts to South Bend to help leverage college and university resources for greater economic development and community impact. With regionalism intended as a primary theme of the conference, IU South Bend looks forward to collabo rating with a variety of economic development and business advocacy partners across the South Bend-Elkhart region to highlight successful initiatives.

“In their proposal, IU South Bend did a phenomenal job showcasing the region and expressing the strength of regional collaboration in the area,” said Dominique Halaby, UEDA President. “Our members are excited to visit South Bend and see what makes it such a great place to live, learn, work, and play.”

The summit will take place October 6-9, 2024, at the Embassy Suites in South Bend.
