Pride of Indiana: Thank-you messages to and from IU employees

Mar 17, 2017

Pride of Indiana is a regular feature in Inside IU that allows IU faculty and staff to recognize their colleagues for IU-related work they’ve done that goes above and beyond their job duties or responsibilities.

Submit a Pride of Indiana shout-out for a colleague who makes a difference in your department.

Thank you to the following IU employees:

IU Bloomington

Tereasa West, of the Office of Research Administration, whose nominator wrote: “Thank you for all your hard work you have done over the past 42 years at the Office of Research Administration.”

Terra Hay, of the School of Public Health, whose nominator wrote: “I would like to thank Terra Hay, our scheduling officer and graduate specialist who does an amazing job with scheduling our graduate school’s courses each term and whose enthusiasm and commitment to our faculty and students shows in the care and service she provides. We are a better unit because of her selfless efforts!”

Ginger Scott, of the Office of Conference and Event Registration, whose nominator wrote: “Amazing, thoughtful, kind and willing to help from start to finish is how I describe Ms. Ginger. She was eager to assist me in setting up the necessary information for employers to register for our first career fair. With me knowing absolutely nothing of the process, Ms. Ginger quickly arranged a time to meet to discuss all the options available. She explained the process and stated she was here to assist me in making our event a success! She took the time to walk me through the process and made sure I had what I needed. I would like to personally thank Ms. Ginger for her willing spirit and personable personality. It was such a pleasure working with her. Thank you so much for providing the ground work in ensuring the registration process will be a huge success! You rock!”

Natalie Mitchell, of Student Legal Services, whose nominator wrote: “Nat, thanks for working so hard to support the work of our office. Your efforts are absolutely essential to the work that we do, and I especially appreciate your attention to detail, which allows me to take a little time off at this time of year without having to worry about whether things are covered!”

IUPUI

Annie Clark, of the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine, whose nominator wrote: “Annie is a true team player and a source of joy within our care coordination team. She’s the person who thinks of everyone else on the team and our care partners – remembering and recognizing birthdays and life events, rallying support for those experiencing family or personal difficulties, and just otherwise lifting people up with positive messages of encouragement and expressions of gratitude for the work they do. Annie is often our go-to person for unmet needs or questions about processes that are challenges to our work and she is always willing to help. She is also a bridge builder, cultivating relationships with other teams, departments, and community partners that make our work infinitely more successful. Since this program launched, Annie has worn many hats and willingly taken on an ever-evolving list of responsibilities, often without direct training. She is critical to our work and we don’t thank her enough.”

IUPUC

Barbara Brown and Carla Laymon, of the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Dean, whose nominator wrote: “I would like to recognize Barbara Brown AND Carla Laymon for all their hard work each year on planning the IUPUC Commencement Celebration. In addition to their already busy workloads, Barbara and Carla set aside countless hours to plan on the most anticipated event on campus. Detailed to the most granular level, the two do not leave a stone unturned, which makes for a day our whole campus is proud of, especially the graduates and their families.”
