U.S. News recognizes IU business programs, student success initiatives

INDIANAPOLIS and BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University campuses in Bloomington and Indianapolis were recognized by the U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges 2018 rankings, released today.

The Kelley School of Business at IU Bloomington ranked 11th overall and was tied for sixth among public universities for undergraduate education. Several of the school’s specialties were highly ranked, including entrepreneurship, tied for third; marketing and management information systems, both sixth; accounting and finance, both eighth; and management, ninth.

IUPUI and IU Bloomington won mention for programs that support student success. Both were recognized for first-year student experience programs and for residence hall learning communities. IUPUI was recognized for service-learning and IU Bloomington for study-abroad programs.

In web-only rankings, IUPUI tied for 20th as one of the most innovative schools and IU Bloomington tied for 14th for its faculty commitment to undergraduate teaching. The rankings for innovation and undergraduate teaching were based on responses to U.S. News’ peer assessment survey.

IU Southeast ranked fourth among Midwestern regional universities for lowest student debt upon graduation.

IU Bloomington was ranked in the top 40 public national universities, tied for 36th, and was tied for 90th among all national universities. IUPUI was 98th among public national universities and was tied for 192nd overall.
