SiriusXM Radio CEO to kick off School of Informatics and Computing's Industry Lecture Series

INDIANAPOLIS -- James Meyer, CEO of SiriusXM Radio, will kick off the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing's Industry Lecture Series at IUPUI on Sept. 27.

Meyer will focus on the delivery of entertainment and information services to the mobile consumer in a talk titled "Connected Devices and Digital Entertainment."

The one-hour talk will take place at 5 p.m. in Room 152 of the Informatics and Communications Technology Complex, 535 W. Michigan St.

The Industry Lecture Series is free and open to the public.

Meyer oversees all aspects of the operations of the satellite radio provider and was previously president of Aegis Ventures, where he provided support for SiriusXM. Prior to that, he held a number of senior management positions in consumer electronics.

The lecture series features design leaders from major national corporations describing how human-centered design practices are integral to the development of forward-thinking "internet of things" business strategies. Each semester, these leaders work with graduate students on internet of things design projects in a class titled Internet-of-Things Interface Design for Business Innovation.

The next two installments in the Industry Lecture Series will be presented by Scott Sullivan, vice president of global product management at Shure Inc., a developer of breakthrough audio technologies, and Mike Sale and Sarah Schlifke of Delta Faucet. Their lectures will take place in the Informatics and Communications Technology Complex on Nov. 1 and Nov. 27, respectively.
