2019 Little 500 credentials form and information

Media Advisory Feb 12, 2019

Editors and reporters

Media credentials and infield passes are required for the following 2019 Little 500 events: the Women’s Little 500 Bicycle Race (4 p.m. Friday, April 22) and the Men’s Little 500 Bicycle Race (2 p.m. Saturday, April 23).

Credentials and infield passes will be issued only to working members of the media. Please fill out the attached form for your newspaper, magazine, internet news site, radio station or television station. List, if possible, the names and assignments of those who will use the passes.

Applying for credentials

To secure credentials, complete the form below.

The deadline for credential requests is noon Tuesday, April 19. We reserve the right to limit the number of passes issued to any one organization.

Credentials can be picked up at IU Communications – on the second floor of the Von Lee Building at 517 E. Kirkwood Ave. – between 9 and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. If credentials aren’t picked up before 4:30 p.m. on April 20, they may be picked up at the VIP ticket tent at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Please be prepared to show identification when you pick up the passes.

Only those who have submitted written requests will receive credentials.

Parking for media

Special arrangements have been made for marked television vehicles – particularly live satellite trucks – to use the parking lot of St. Paul’s Catholic Center, 1413 E. 17th St. This parking will provide easy access to the facility for live news broadcasts. All other media will need to use public parking lots across from Bill Armstrong Stadium on Fee Lane. There is no charge for parking.

Photography

Media credentials will provide photographers with extensive access to the track, including the infield. For their safety and the safety of those participating, all infield spectators, including the media, will need to stay within the safety line located 10 feet in from the edge of the track, except during the photo lap as guided by track officials. In most cases, still photographers and reporters will not be permitted to cross the track during the race to enter or exit the infield. No one will be given access to scaffolding and towers.
