Honoring inventors: IU ICO saluted almost 50 faculty, staff whose work received patents

The Indiana University Innovation and Commercialization Office recognized almost 50 faculty and staff members across all campuses and academic centers at its Patent Awards Presentation and Reception on April 22 at the Indiana History Center in Indianapolis.

Faculty and staff were recognized for receiving a patent between Jan. 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018. Their inventions have resulted, or may result, in commercial products, services and processes that will benefit society.

“The issuance of a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office represents the culmination of years of effort by the inventors and the staff of the ICO and is recognition of the novelty of these inventions. We congratulate all of the inventors,” said Bill Brizzard, IU ICO executive director.
