Employees can renew or purchase a one-year permit online through the IU Parking Portal; payment can be made via payroll deduction or credit card. Employees with a multiyear permit do not need to take any action. Multiyear permits are good through June 30, 2020, and will auto renew on July 1.

Starting this summer, the IU Bloomington, IUPUI and IU Northwest campuses are moving to a tiered rate structure for parking permits based on employee salary levels. That means all IU campuses will be using the same structure to determine individual campus parking permit prices.

Salary tiers will be the same as those used by IU’s health care plans, aligning parking rates with the university’s health and dental care plan practices. The four tiers are:

  • Below $35,000
  • $35,000 to $59,999
  • $60,000 to $99,999
  • $100,000 and above

Information about rates for this year’s permits by campus:

Employees will need to provide a vehicle license plate number to purchase a permit. Vehicles can be added or removed from an account at any time throughout the academic year, but it isn’t necessary for short-term use like renting or borrowing a car.

Traveling between campuses? On IU Parking Operations’ Intercampus Parking webpage, select the campus you’re visiting, then select the campus your parking permit is from; the site will tell you where to park with your permit on another IU campus. Maps of parking lots and garages for IU campuses are available on the IU Parking Operations website as well.
