3 reasons to get your flu shot

  • Health officials are concerned that this flu season (2019-20) may be a bad one, with already one death in California associated with the flu.
  • A flu vaccine, on average, will save a college student one full day of being sick and unable to go to class during the flu season. Since the average IUPUI student pays $61 per day in tuition, a flu shot, on average, will save you $61 in lost tuition when you're too sick to go to class. The flu shot this year is at no out-of-pocket cost to students. It's a great deal. Get your flu shot.
  • One in every 12 people in the U.S. will get sick from the flu each season, which means more than 2,000 IUPUI students are at risk.
