During its meeting Feb. 13 and 14, the Indiana University Board of Trustees approved on-campus residence hall rates for the 2020-21 academic year.

The rate for standard room and board at IU Bloomington will increase 3.46 percent, or $375, over the 2019-20 academic year. The Bloomington campus’s residence hall rates will go up 3.8 percent overall.

The annual cost for a standard room, which is a double-occupancy room in a mid-amenity residence hall with air conditioning, will be $7,505, an increase of $275 over the current academic year. Standard rooms are in facilities such as Eigenmann, Read and Teter.

“IU continues to offer our students competitive pricing compared to our peer institutions, as well as housing options in the Bloomington community, creating value for our students and those who choose to live on campus,” IU Treasurer Don Lukes said of residence hall rates at IU Bloomington.

Residence hall rates will change at other IU campuses with on-campus housing as well, including:

  • IUPUI: 1.7 to 4.5 percent.
  • IU South Bend: 0.5 to 1 percent.
  • IU Southeast: 1.96 to 2.05 percent.
