Media day planned for Glenn Close 'Art of the Character' costume exhibition

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Media outlets interested in covering "The Art of the Character: Highlights from the Glenn Close Costume Collection" are invited to preview the exhibition during a media day May 3 at the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University Bloomington. Those who attend will be able to capture photo and videos of the exhibition, and to interview IU faculty and staff who've worked with Close's costumes.

Close donated her collection of more than 800 pieces to the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design's Sage Collection in 2017.

  • What: A preview of "The Art of the Character," including photo, video and interview opportunities. The exhibition features 56 of Close's costumes, representing 11 characters from 14 productions. It includes pieces from "Dangerous Liaisons," "101 Dalmatians" and "Guardians of the Galaxy."
  • When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3. In order to maintain physical distancing, outlets will be assigned a specific time to enter the exhibition space.
  • Where: The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art, 1133 E. Seventh St. in Bloomington. Paid parking is available at the Indiana Memorial Union, southwest of the museum.
