Podcast: If the Hall could talk

Feb 11, 2022

In an arena filled with legendary moments and unique qualities, it’s unlikely anyone has more Indiana basketball knowledge than Don Fischer and Kit Klingelhoffer.

Fischer is the revered radio play-by-play voice of the Hoosiers, in his 49th season behind the microphone. Klingelhoffer is a retired IU Athletics administrator who began working in the department during Assembly Hall’s construction and spent time as Bob Knight’s sports information director during his 42 years in the program.

The duo discuss Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall’s legacy, their first impressions of the building’s opening, the loudest it’s been, favorite memories and more in this spirited conversation.

IU spokesperson Chuck Carney facilitates this trip down memory lane with Fischer and Klingelhoffer to discuss 50 years of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
